Everything you need to know about our cherries
Your cherries are handpicked the day before they arrive. Keep them in the fridge to keep them sweet and juicy for longer.
Overnight delivery is available to every non-rural address in New Zealand.
Yes we do, but the delivery time to rural addresses is a bit longer. If you’d like overnight shipping but live rurally, you can choose to have your order delivered to an NZ Courier drop-off in your nearest town.
The cherry season runs from December to the end of January. We sell all our produce online so be sure to sign up to our email list to receive all important updates.
Organic cherries can be pre-ordered in October.
We have six varieties of tasty cherries for you to choose from:
Samba - The Samba is both big and juicy and is a dark red fruit. This is ready for harvesting in early December.
Santina - Ready around mid-December, the Santina is sweet, juicy and light. It’s a medium-sized fruit with a glossy black, bright colour.
Rainier - The Rainier is by far the sweetest and juiciest, and it’s also our rarest. When it's ready to be picked it's white and yellow in colour. This is ready in mid-December.
Sweethearts - Heart-shaped, flavoursome and sweet. The Sweetheart is ready in early January.
Staccato - The Staccato is a large, firm and glossy fruit. It’s crunchy on the outside but sweet and juicy on the inside and available to order from mid-January.
Lapin - The Lapin is a great cherry to ring in the new year with. It’s large and firm and is full of flavour. It’s usually at its ripest at the end of December.
We’re sorry to hear you aren’t happy with your order, but if it’s not up to your standards it’s not up to ours either. Please get in touch and we’ll resolve this as soon as we can.
Since planting our orchard, we have strived to use only organic and sustainable practices. We’re proud to say we are now in the process of becoming certified organic. Each variety we pick is sent to Hills Laboratory for independent testing for herbicide, pesticide or fungicide contamination. These results are available publicly.
We are what we eat, so eating and growing organically is extremely important to us. Organic produce is nutrient-dense and filled with antioxidants. Organic foods have been proven to have little to no levels of pesticide, herbicide and fungicide residues compared to conventional orchards. Some of these toxic chemicals have been classified as carcinogens, and studies have shown that prolonged exposure to these chemicals can increase the risk of certain cancers
At Pure Organic, we prioritise organic practices, ensuring fruit that is better for you and the environment. We use only organic fertilisers, mainly made up of seaweed, seashells, and carbon. We don’t use synthetic insecticides, fungicides, fertilisers, growth regulators, or glyphosates. As our orchard runs alongside a stream, we must avoid any nitrogen leaching and damage to our surrounding environment.
Our state-of-the-art under-tree mower helps us control vegetation growth under our trees and sprinklers, adding organic matter back onto the ground to feed the microbiology that keeps our trees healthy and thriving.
We’re proud to use only sustainable, compostable or recyclable packaging.

They’rea great source of vitamin C and potassium, which supports heart health and muscle function. Cherries contain anthocyanins and other antioxidants, which help reduce inflammation.
